ABOUT PORTRAITS

At True North Studio we are passionate about creating beautiful Studio Portraits of you or your loved ones.

Whether you’re looking for a stunning fine art portrait of yourself or your family to display for generations to come, or a fun shoot of the kids playing with the dog in the woods, you’re in the right place.

In our studio in Pontefract, just outside Leeds, we produce gorgeous Studio Portraits of you, your partner, children & teens. Alternatively, I can come out to you and shoot a more Environmental Portrait, to capture the essence of your surroundings in the image.

How It Works

Consultation

Once you’ve booked your Portrait Session, we arrange a meeting to discuss what you want from your portraits. Either online, or in person, we’ll talk about you and how you’d like your portraits to look.

Basically, it’s where we plan your photo shoot. Everything from how you want to look and feel in the images. What you’d like to wear. Whether you’d like a Hair & Make-Up Artist before the shoot. This is our opportunity to create something that is uniquely you.

We create an enjoyable, relaxed, bespoke session around you, how you want to feel and your choice of wardrobe.

Portrait Session

People are sometimes a bit nervous about being in front of the camera.

Don’t worry.

That’s normal and we’ll work with you and help you to relax. We’ll take care of all the posing and lighting to show you at your very best. If you’ve decided to use a Hair and Make-Up Artist, that will take about an hour, so it’s a perfect opportunity to relax and let us take care of you.

The sessions are fun and are more like an enjoyable conversation, with some photographs along the way. All you need to do is bring yourself & your choice of outfits.

Viewing & Selection

After the shoot, we arrange to meet up and show you your Stunning hand retouched Portraits.

We’ll talk you through the print packages, enlargements, the gorgeous wall art etc. There’s no hard sell – you only buy what you love & we’re confident enough in our work, our prints and our books to know that you will love them.

Once you’ve made your selections, we send them off to be printed. We only use the best printers, both for our wall art pieces and for our books. At True North Studio, we want you to have fabulous images that you’ll display and enjoy for years to come.

TELL ME ABOUT THE PACKAGES…

Firstly, we charge a session fee to confirm your booking.

The Session Fee is £75.00

If you’d like to book a Hair and Makeup artist prior to the shoot, for the full makeover experience, that’s an additional £150.00

After the session and once the photographs are ready, we’ll make an appointment for a viewing where you can see the photographs and then choose which package you’d like.

We really wanted to cater to everyone with the different packages that we offered. There are three different print packages that include different numbers of prints. Each collection includes the corresponding digital files for the prints that you select.

In addition, we also have an ‘ à la carte ‘ menu where you can order any number of additional mounted prints, framed prints, canvasses, wall art & books. If you’d like a copy of the ‘ à la carte ‘ price list, please feel free to download it here.

Styling consultation: We discuss what you’d like to wear and what will help you look your absolute best
Optional: Hair & Makeup Makeover prior to the shoot
Professional editing and retouching of the photographs from your session
A viewing appointment to help you choose your photographs

STEP 2: CHOOSE A PRINT PACKAGE

Once we’ve finished professionally editing and retouching the photographs from your portrait session, we’ll call you to arrange a viewing appointment – either in the comfort of your own home, or in the Studio. At this point, you can order any of the print packages, wall art and any additional mounted print copies for friends and relatives. We also offer a wide range of canvasses, photo books and framed enlargements too. Every image you order, whether part of a print package or as individual wall art, will be supplied with the corresponding digital image file.

ADDITIONAL PRINTS, FRAMED PRINTS & CANVASES

It May be the gorgeous, leatherette Reveal Box that allows you to store your images safely, whilst displaying the front image (which can be changed whenever you feel like it).

You might want to add a stunning statement printed enlargement, beautifully printed on exhibition quality paper. Or take advantage of the great value 9-UP, 9 images printed together or one large print. All prints are on 300gsm Fine Art Portrait paper, a delicate, ultra matt, 100% cotton rag based paper with a slightly textured feel and archival quality.
