A portrait of you all is a beautiful way to celebrate family. It’s about capturing a fleeting moment. Children grow so quickly and families grow and change and spread. Our portraits are about capturing your family story and your relationships.

Our Family Portraits come in two styles: Studio & Lifestyle. The choice is completely yours. Traditionally, the studio would be a very posed, formal image – but that’s not how we work. A studio family portrait can be relaxed and fun and reflect your family dynamic every bit as well as an outdoor Lifestyle Session.

The Lifestyle package is where we come to you. Either to your home, or somewhere outdoors and we spend a couple of hours taking beautiful, natural photographs. It’s really important to us to capture the essence, spirit & dynamic of the couples, families, children, friends or pets in the portraits. The sessions take around two hours. That way, there’s plenty of time to get to know each other and get some really fantastic Photographs.

How It Works

Consultation

Once you’ve booked your Portrait Session, we arrange a meeting to discuss what you want from your portraits. Either online, or in person, we’ll talk about you and how you’d like your portraits to look.

Basically, it’s where we plan your photo shoot. Everything from how you want the images to look. Where you’d like the session to take place. Who’s going to be in it & what they will wear etc.

We create an enjoyable, relaxed, bespoke session around your family.

Portrait Session

Sessions take between One and Two hours, it really depends on how many family members there are and where the session is taking place.

Studio sessions tend to take a little bit less time as there’s no walking between locations.

If the session is at your home, it’ll take us a few mins to set up the lights etc.

The aim of the session is to get beautiful, natural images of you and your family, something that will hang on your wall for a long time to come.

Viewing & Selection

After the shoot, we arrange to meet up and show you your Stunning hand retouched Portraits.

We’ll talk you through the print packages, enlargements, the gorgeous wall art etc. There’s no hard sell – you only buy what you love & we’re confident enough in our work, our prints and our books to know that you will love them.

Once you’ve made your selections, we send them off to be printed. We only use the best printers, both for our wall art pieces and for our books. At True North Studio, we want you to have fabulous images that you’ll display and enjoy for years to come.

TELL ME ABOUT THE PACKAGES…

Firstly, we charge a session fee to confirm your booking.

The Session Fee is £75.00

After the session and once the photographs are ready, we’ll make an appointment for a viewing where you can see the photographs and then choose which package you’d like.

We really wanted to cater to everyone with the different packages that we offered. There are three different print packages that include different numbers of prints. Each collection includes the corresponding digital files for the prints that you select.

In addition, we also have an ‘ à la carte ‘ menu where you can order any number of additional mounted prints, framed prints, canvasses, wall art & books. If you’d like a copy of the ‘ à la carte ‘ price list, please feel free to download it here.

Styling consultation: We discuss what you’d like to wear and what will help you look your absolute best

Professional editing and retouching of the photographs from your session
A viewing appointment to help you choose your photographs

STEP 2: CHOOSE A PRINT PACKAGE

Once we’ve finished professionally editing and retouching the photographs from your portrait session, we’ll call you to arrange a viewing appointment – either in the comfort of your own home, or in the Studio. At this point, you can order any of the print packages, wall art and any additional mounted print copies for friends and relatives. We also offer a wide range of canvasses, photo books and framed enlargements too. Every image you order, whether part of a print package or as individual wall art, will be supplied with the corresponding digital image file.

You might want to add a stunning statement printed enlargement, beautifully printed on exhibition quality paper. Or take advantage of the great value 9-UP, 9 images printed together or one large print. All prints are on 300gsm Fine Art Portrait paper, a delicate, ultra matt, 100% cotton rag based paper with a slightly textured feel and archival quality.
