Is It Time For a Business Image Update?

Last week, I was in Leeds photographing headshots for one of my regular clients.   When they booked, we’d had a chat about some different ideas to make things a little more interesting.  We discussed the option to try some different backgrounds.

On the day, I did the headshots as I’d always done them for this client, with a grey background – that way, we had a safe image for each person that I knew we could fall back on if necessary.  The grey background is a solid choice as it’s simple, minimal and doesn’t detract from the subject, whilst looking clean and professional.   I also took a few photographs of the office space.  It’s a nice, bright, modern office in the heart of Leeds’ business area, so it would make an excellent backdrop if that’s what they chose.

Once I’d done the edit and then retouched their selections with the grey background, I ran the images through Photoshop and gave them the second option with the office background.  I’m pleased with how they came out – they still look professional and businesslike, but they’re just a bit more eye catching I think.

Your imagination is the only limitation on what is possible (I’d probably try to keep it appropriate for your business though).
