Concrete & Carbon

Concrete & Carbon is an ongoing contemporary landscape exploration. Firstly, It is a project to question how functional and brutalist architecture and infrastructure sits within the natural landscape. Also, it’s an exploration of whether that infrastructure ever truly becomes part of the landscape.

Can a cooling tower be viewed as scenery or as part of the landscape?

Can a Motorway bridge work within its natural surroundings to a point where it almost doesn’t look out of place in the environment?

I really wanted to explore how essential infrastructure and architecture that we take for granted, sits within the natural landscape. Especially when, over the years, the natural landscape regrows and almost reclaims the structures.

Concrete & Carbon is still an ongoing project.
