Georgina & Alistair’s Wedding

You know when you’re driving down the M1 and you’re just north of Sheffield, you can see a big mast?  When you look towards the West – that giant great thing?  I’ve often wondered what it looked like close up.  Georgina & Alistair gave me the opportunity to see it close up today. It’s massive!!!.

Their wedding was at The Three Acres Inn over near Denby Dale, Huddersfield.  A beautiful part of the country, full of rolling hills and greenery. You really couldn’t ask for better views. Sheffield to the south, Leeds to the North and the dales off to the west – perfect!

Georgina got ready at the Three Acres in a gorgeous room with her bridesmaids – it’s fair to say they were a lively crowd.   As you look through the photographs of the day, you’ll be able to see that for yourselves…

The Inn also served as the reception venue after we’d been to St. John’s Church in Denby for the official knot tying.  I’ve photographed a few weddings since restrictions eased to allow 30 people.  I’ve noticed something about them.  They are lovely.  The Bride & Groom get to spend more time with their guests.  There’s more interaction & connection between people.  People get to really spend the day together.  That’s not to  say that it doesn’t happen with bigger weddings, just that the smaller days are just as enjoyable.  Yes, it may be harder to narrow down the guest list, but that’s where the real skill is.  Georgina & Alistair had the perfect combination of family & friends today.  A lovely crowd of people.  It was a pleasure to photograph them & spend time with them.  Even when they found the only wet patch of mud in an entire bone dry field, with their perfect bridesmaids shoe…

The Three Acres Inn, Huddersfield

I’ve never shot a wedding at The Three Acres Inn before this one & I have to say I was massively impressed.  The suite where Georgina and her bridesmaids got ready was massive, light and airey.  Perfect for taking photographs in.  All of the space around the hotel is lovely – they have a large Tipi & outdoor bar area as well as the indoor wedding area.  The food was great & the coffee flowed freely – 2 thumbs up for The Three Acres from me!

“We would highly recommend Mark for Wedding photography. First and foremost, our photos are amazing, and he’s done a brilliant job of capturing the happiness and fun of our day. We’ve had so many compliments from family and friends.
Mark got the balance spot on between blending into the background for the natural photos, but was great at making us feel at ease in front of the camera for more posed shots. He’s so easy to get on with and just felt like an extra guest by the end of the day. Thank you Mark!”
