Priory Cottages: Perfect Venue for Katie & Sam

I love it when the bride & groom get ready at the same location. It adds something to the day when I can run between rooms and capture both of them getting ready. That’s exactly how it worked on this occasion, with Katie & sam and all of their bridesmaids, ushers and family taking over the Priory Cottages in Wetherby for the day. There was a cottage for the Bride and makeup. One for the hairdressers and one for the groom and his ushers. I think I walked about 5 miles during the morning!

Once everyone was ready, it was off to the Immaculate Heart of Mary church in Leeds for the service. I got there nice and early to get some shots of a nervous groom. Instead, when I arrived, I was greeted by Sam and the groomsmen sharing jokes with the Vicar and ‘testing’ their new hip flasks. It’s a good job that they had some ‘refreshments’ with them as Katie was what I think they call ‘fashionably late’.

With the service over and the knot legally tied, it was back to Wetherby for an afternoon of socialising in the courtyard at the Priory Cottages and the Wedding Breakfast. I took the opportunity to drag Katie & Sam into a nearby field to make the most of the evening light and to take a few portraits of them and then, dancing. Lots of dancing. Dancing with each other. Dancing with inflatables. And, the Bride jumping up on stage and doing a few songs with the band – there’s a future career waiting there, Katie…
